Welcome to Walks Manager
Walks Manager is your tool to manage our group walks online and share these with walkers on the Ramblers website. By adding walks to Walks Manager, you'll help both new and existing walkers to find and join our walks.
Walks Manager is a tool to help promote and share our walks on the Ramblers website and app, so that walkers can get inspired and find the walks that are right for them. You can use Walks Manager to:
• Attract and inspire new people to join your group walks
• Share essential information, so that walkers can find a walk that’s right for them
• Create a diverse walk programme, using the different functions such as calendar view.

Your help is needed
As part of the introduction of Walks Manager we need to update all Walk Leaders contact preferences ie preferred name, telephone number and email address.
Each Walk Leader will have to log in to Walks Manager and set their contact preferences. How to do this is set out in the Walks Manager Guidance on pages 31-33.
NOTE: Your e-mail address is not published it is hidden behind a form.
Preferred Name
Your preferred name is taken from the Ramblers register of Volunteers and can’t be changed within Walks Manager.
If you have checked your display name, contact number and email address on Walks Manager and these are incorrect, please update the ‘My Details’ section of My Account within the Ramblers website - https://ramblers.org.uk/my-account
Once you have updated your details, it may take up to 24 hours for the these to update within Walks Manager.
If you don’t have an account with Ramblers please consider signing up at https://www.ramblers.org.uk
If you don’t use the internet or e-mail please contact Ken Mill with details of your walk and we can add to the Walks Manager. We will need your permission to publish contact name and telephone number and you will need to complete the contact details permission form and send to Ken.
How to use Walks Manager
In Walks Manager there are two different levels of volunteer access:
• Walk Leader access
All Walk Leaders in our group will be able to add and edit their own walks/events, submit them for checking, and update their contact permissions. NOTE: If you add your own walks please e-mail Ken so we can arrange to publish the walks. There is no automatic notification that a walk has been added for checking/publishing.
• Walk Editor access
Walk Programme Coordinators and Online Walk Editors will be able to manage and publish walks and events for our group. More than one person in our group can have these roles. These permissions give flexibility, so that you can use Walks Manager to add walks in a way that works best for our group. To use Walks Manager, you need to have a role as a walk leader, walk programme coordinator or online walks editor. If you need a role to be added, please speak to your group chair, secretary, or walks programme coordinator – they can add this for you.
For Severnside Ken Mill is our Coordinator and our Online Walks Editor for Walks Manager.

Walks Manager Guidance
The guidance supporting Walks Manager is available within Walks Manager and is accessed from the top right on the welcome screen. Please read the guidance.
Copies of the guidance can be e-mailed if preferred.
Photographs
Photos will catch people’s attention and bring your listing to life, so try to add at least one to your walk information. We recommend using photo file sizes between 5 –10 MB (most will be smaller than this) and they must be in .png, .jpg, .jpeg or .gif format (we recommend jpeg/jpg).
You can add photos later if you don’t have one to hand when first creating the walk. Your recce is a good time to take photos of the walk.
Alternatively, photos can be sent to Ken.
